The Switch is Nintendo’s newest console to enter the gaming world. Nintendo have always been known to be innovative with their hardware, adding features not usually found within other games consoles on the market. The Switch follows this trend, by merging together a home gaming system, with a portable gaming system. This gives gamers the best of both worlds, allowing them to play seamlessly on a big tv at home, and then on the move whilst out and about.
Another feature, typical of the Nintendo consoles, is the ability to play games from the older catalogue on previous generations of console hardware. Again this is present in the Nintendo Switch, however it is being taken one step further, with online play available in the SNES games, opening up a bigger set of options for your entertainment.
Typically, Nintendo hardware has been seen to be more oriented towards family gaming, with titles generally being of a group play nature. The line up of games for the Nintendo Switch, however, hints that there may be a higher degree of other types of games hitting the market this time, such as the likes of Skyrim, Farming Simulator 18 and Steep. There are of course the return of the family favourites though, such as Mario returning in Super Mario Odyssey, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
The new console is available in a range of colours.
