Battle of the Pacific, which allows players to relive the battles of the World War II pacific theatre.The action takes place in several stand-alone missions that each focuses on a battle in the American campaign during the war. The storyline is explained before each mission, which eventually leads to the capture of the island of Iwo Jima, crucial to the final victory over the Japanese. Each mission takes place in a different environment, from dense jungle paths to more open grass areas.Gameplay involves following a squadron of soldiers through the area, whilst not straying too far from their side. Enemies will need to be disposed of using a variety of classic World War II weapons, including a Thompson submachine gun and an M1 Garand Rifle. Additional tasks will be encountered on the way, from manning gun turrets to defusing dangerous mines.
